How Sales Tools Help Define Fundraising Success

Everybody wants their school fundraiser to go well but few are willing to put the work into making their success happen. There is more to fundraising than finding the perfect brochure that everyone will love or choosing the right prize program that will somehow motivate your students to go out and sell. Some groups might even define success by what profit percent they are able to get.

We feel that to truly be successful, fundraising groups should focus more on utilizing the various sales tools that their fundraiser company should be providing before the start of their sale. If more schools put these tools to work they would actually experience more success.

Our sales tools can be broken down into 2 categories:

  1. Materials that are intended to help the sale run smoothly like our fundraiser supply kit
  2. Materials that are designed to increase sales like our additional fundraising incentive ideas

Here are 3 ways that schools can effectively implement their sales tools:

1. Review Any Fundraising Materials Beforehand
Your fundraising company should be providing you with access to sales tools from their website as well as through email notices and mailed literature. For example, our elementary school fundraiser accounts receive a fundraising guidebook inside their fundraiser supply kit box about a week prior to their kickoff. We encourage our customers to spend some time reviewing it so they will know how to run their fundraiser effectively. If questions come up they have time to contact us prior to their fundraiser kickoff. This way they are well prepared and will know what to do.

Once they know how to run their sale they can then focus more of their attention on promoting their fundraiser which will maximize results.

2. Prepare to Implement Your Materials
Plan to discuss how you will implement your sales tools with the people who will be helping you run your fundraiser. For example:

  • When will student fundraising packets be distributed?
  • Who will be doing the fundraising announcements?
  • How will reminder notices be sent home?
  • How will additional incentives be incorporated?

3. Put Your Plan in Motion
If you’ve done your homework before your fundraiser then you should be ready to go. Now all you need to do is get your feet wet and put your plan into action!
