The Big Discount Card
Our ‘Big Discount Card’ program offers consumers a choice of up to 12-15 local merchants on the back of your custom-designed card. Your customers can use any or all vendors on the back of your card every single day for a full year!
You can pick between 2 options for building your card:
Option 1: We will do the work of contacting your merchants that you want on your card! If we do the work of contacting your vendors this process will usually take from 45 to 60 days.
Option 2: You do the work of contacting your merchants and then submit to us one Discount Card Business Agreement Form for each merchant that agrees to be on your card.
Which option should you choose?
Option 1 is good if you have more time available and you don’t have to kick-off your fundraiser right away. There is a 250 card minimum order.
Option 2 works well if you are able to line up your vendors in time to meet a quicker fundraising kick-off deadline. You will also make a higher profit with option 2 because you are able to do the work of contacting your own merchants. There is also no minimum order requirement.
Option 1 – Designing your card:
- We will custom design the front of your discount card with your organization's logo. Go to The Discount Card Book in the resources section at the bottom of this page to view logo designs that you can choose from
- Choose your discount card colors from our selection of card and ink colors (a list of available colors can be found on the Discount Card Design Form in the resources section at the bottom of this page.)
- Complete the business wish list found on pages 2 and 3 of your Discount Card Design Form
- It is our goal to obtain the maximum of 15 vendors for your card. However, we do not guarantee that we will achieve the minimum of 12 vendors in every case.
- PLEASE NOTE: Due to the fact that we must reach an agreement and have each vendor sign a contract for your card, you are not allowed to make recommendations for changes or modifications to any offers once a vendor has signed the contract. Also, in an attempt to complete your card, if we are unable to contract with enough vendors from your wish list we will, at our discretion, contact vendors in your area that may not be on your wish list.
Option 2 – Designing your card:
- We will custom design the front of your discount card with your organization's logo. Go to The Discount Card Book in the resources section at the bottom of this page to view logo designs that you can choose from
- Choose your discount card colors from our selection of card and ink colors (a list of available colors can be found on the Discount Card Design Form in the resources section at the bottom of this page.)
- Ask local vendors to support your organization by offering discounts
- Have the vendors that agree to be on your card fill out and sign our Discount Card Business Agreement Form in the resources section at the bottom of this page (Make sure to complete the bottom section of the form where it says ‘For Organization Use Only’ before providing to merchant)
- Have the merchant scan and email the completed Discount Card Business Agreement Form to sales@BigEventFundraising.com. Or, if you are able to collect each form in person you can scan and email them yourself (Your goal should be to obtain a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 15 signed Discount Card Business Agreement Forms). We will send you an email confirmation once we receive your order
- If a local business would like their company logo next to their offer, an attachment of the logo design will need to be included in the email (We already have most popular national brand company logos and will insert them whenever possible)
- Use page 1 from the Discount Card Design Form to design the front of your card and submit along with the signed Discount Card Business Agreement Forms
You can choose between 2 selling methods:
- You can order your cards up front and receive a bulk shipment, then sell the cards and collect the money. Pay your bill once you have collected enough money then keep the rest as profit.
- You can take orders up front first by using an order form and collect the money while using your own customized 2-sided discount card sales brochure where a sample version can be found at the bottom of this page (Order Form is on one side and a picture of the front of your card along with an enlargement of the vendor choices is on the other side). Then you can place your order based on the cards that you have already sold. Your organization can select a sales incentive plan using this method.
How much is my profit?
Option 1:
- Profit to group is 40% for bulk orders with 250 card minimum and no sales incentive program
- Profit to group is 50% for bulk orders with 500 card minimum and no sales incentive program
- Profit to group is 40-50% when adding a sales incentive program (500 card minimum)
Option 2:
- Profit to group is 40% for orders between 1-99 cards
- Profit to group is 45% for orders between 100-249 cards
- Profit to group is 55% for orders between 250-499 cards
- Profit to group is 60% for orders between 500-999 cards
- Profit to group is 65% for orders between 1,000-2,499 cards
- Profit to group is 70% for orders between 2,500-4,999 cards
- Profit to group is 75% for orders 5,000 and up cards
- Maximum profit to group is 55% when adding a sales incentive program
What you need to know:
- A $25.00 delivery fuel surcharge will apply on all (non-bulk) programs (1st order only).
- This program cannot be combined with any other catalog.
- There is a $25.00 artwork set-up fee for option 2 only
- Discount Cards arrive pre-sorted by seller and by teacher, team or sub-group when used with a sales incentive program.
- Reorder minimum with option 1 is 50 cards or more. Option 2 has no minimum reorder requirement
- Sales incentives arrive sorted by teacher, team or sub-group
- The retail cost of the discount card is $10.00
- No returns allowed on any discount cards.
