Curtis has been entertaining audiences young and old alike with his brand of magic and comedy throughout the past thirty years. He is also a seasoned actor and musician, having also performed in numerous college and community theatre productions, and is an avid supporter of youth and the performing arts. In the late 1980s’ he formed and managed a small magic/comedy troupe "Magedy" with a group of some of his fellow actor friends, doing mainly shows for children that carried with each performance messages against alcohol or substance abuse, routines that promoted safety, etc. He also developed and performed a television commercial spot for the March of Dimes and their "Help Free Babies from Birth Defects" campaign, using a combination of magic and pantomime to reinforce the message of the campaign slogan. He has performed fundraising shows for various charitable organizations over the years as well, to include the Arthritis Foundation, the March of Dimes, and the American Heart Association.
Like many of his fellow magicians and illusionists, Curtis fell in love with the art of magic at a very young age. Because his life was so effected in his youth, Curtis realizes just how impressionable young minds can be, and endeavors to make a lasting and uplifting impact on today’s youth with each of his performances. Many parents today are frustrated with how easily exposed their young children are to objectionable and negative material, but Curtis’ show lies safely in the “Worry-Free Zone.” It is entertainment that needs no “Parental Control” settings, “Firewalls”, or security programs to protect children and filter out negative influences, and it won’t rob anyone of their identity. It is clean, clever, funny, and uplifting family-friendly entertainment in its purest form.
